Spain Stuff (again)

Hi guys! It's been too long, but I had hardly any wifi in Spain, so I couldn't post until now. But since I was just there, I just feel like ranting about their customs that I got used to because I'm probably going to miss them a lot. First of all, whenever I met or said goodbye to anyone, we would do the thing where you kiss the air by both cheeks. Literally, every single time, which was interesting when all of us were meeting an entire family. All in all, though, that was just so cute and nice and I wish we did that here too. But I like hugs better, so I'm glad we do that instead with close friends and stuff.

Also the eating schedule was later in general, but that made me like it way better. On a typical day, I would get up at around ten and have breakfast. Lunchtime would then be at around 2 or 3, where we would have a big meal and then a nap because why not (that's where the whole 'siesta' thing comes in). Then dinner time would be a small meal at around ten, mostly consisting of tapas, which were all amazing.

I would go on but it's past ten and I'm really hungry and also tired so I'm just going to say that I loved the trip, and I'll probably end up talking way too much about it, so prepare yourselves for when I come back. See you guys tomorrow!

Cherry: An Interesting Story

Hey. :) Sorry for not posting on Friday. I was pretty busy then. ^ ^; However, I have a bit of time to leave you with this rather interesting story that I found. :3

Two twins were talking in the womb:
Tell me, do you believe in life after birth?
Of course. After birth comes life. Perhaps we are here to prepare for what comes after birth.
Forget it! After birth there is nothing! From there, no one has returned! And besides, what would it look like?
I do not know exactly, but I feel that there are lights everywhere … Perhaps we walk on our own feet, and eat with our mouth.
This is utterly stupid! Walking isn’t possible! And how can we eat with that ridiculous mouth? Can’t you see the umbilical cord? And for that matter, think about it for a second: postnatal life isn’t possible because the cord is too short.
Yes, but I think there is definitely something, just in a different way than what we call life.
You’re stupid. Birth is the end of life and that’s it.
Look, I do not know exactly what will happen, but Mother will help us…
The Mother? Do you believe in the Mother? !
Yes.
Do not be ridiculous! Have you seen the Mother anywhere? Has anyone seen her at all?
No, but she is all around us. We live within her. And certainly, it is thanks to her that we exist.
Well, now leave me alone with this stupidity, right? I’ll believe in Mother when I see her.
You can not see her, but if you’re quiet, you can hear her song, you can feel her love. If you’re quiet, you can feel her caress and you will feel her protective hands.

That's it. ;P Think what you want about this story. It actually receives a lot of hate from others...for obvious reasons. XD But, I think that it does provide an interesting perspective on things that is quite different from the usual way of looking at things.
Well, that's all for now. =w=

Twenty Quotes

I'm feeling pretty lazy today, so here's some nice quotes instead of a really long rant or game review. ;P

and this last quote relates to the rant that I had posted at first. :)

Spain and France!

Hey! Sorry I didn't post yesterday; I was busy packing and finishing up everything, but I'll just post quickly now. I'm about to go on a two-week trip, first to France for a few days with the chorus, then Barcelona, still with the chorus, then I'm going to travel down to Córdoba with my mom and sister for the rest of my trip. So I don't know how much wifi I'll have for the next two weeks, but I'll post pictures when I can! I'm so excited for this :D See you all soon!

Owl: Allergy Season

Hello, my children of the night,
Welcome to creeper town.
So, let's get some business out of the way: I will not be posting on Wednesday next week, I will be posting on Thursday night. Why? Because I'll be in a foreign country where I don't understand how wi-fi works. Wish me luck!
So, our topic for today is allergy season.
I personally am very allergic to three different types of pollen, as well as minor allergies to like a million others. It's dreadful. I literally almost passed out at the end of the school day today because I didn't take any medication.
But yeah. Loads of fun.
Also in the news: today was the day of silence for the LGBTQ+ community. Not really the best way to show support, we really should just have a day of visibility, but it's pretty good. I personally took a vow of silence for the day, but I wish I had taken a talking sticker so that I could have some conversations about it.

Now, to move onward:

ON THIS DAY IN HISTORY: In 1912, the Titanic sank, which spurred on the events of the hit TV show Downton Abbey. Kind of right, but not really.

Would You Rather: Live in a Norwegian prison or in the Democratic Republic of the Congo?

No offense to Congo, but it's got some political and safety issues there. Even if the Norwegian prison isn't that great, at least I'd be safe there.

What about y'all?

Off to bed for me, my night babies

Nicky: A little poem from my first grade self

Sorry I didn't post last week! I got sick and just slept all afternoon XD

So the other day I was going threw some kindergarten and first grade scrapbooks, remember when our teachers actually took time to make them?, and I found this really cute (and really weird) poem I wrote XD

A poem from my first grade self:

I love:
My family
My dog
Sparky

Ok so first off: WHO IN THE WORLD IS SPARKY?!
I really have no idea XD
Knowing me I probably meant sparkly but who really knows ;D *face palm at first grade me* I really find it funny because I didn't really care for my dog much, I think I put that as just a general thing. I love the dog I have now though, she is my baby <3
And of course I put the one everyone does: my family.

Funny, now I love to write poems. I think (and hope) I do a better job though ;)

So yeah, that's my little first grade poem X3

Harvest Moon : Fan Art + Comics

Oops. I almost forgot that it was my day to post today. XD
Well, I don't really feel like writing a long post today, so rather than doing a "game of the day" review-type thing, I'll just talk a bit about, and provide wonderful fan art of one of my favorite game franchises: Harvest Moon!

So, Harvest Moon is really different from The Legend of Zelda, but somehow I love them both. XD It's a farming simulator (Don't stop reading now! It's much cooler than it sounds!) in which you interact with the villagers in your town. I like to think of it as a mix between any type of farming
game (but better - it's so addicting....which is weird), animal crossing (You know, that cute game with the town filled with animal citizens, where you talk with them and such?), and a dating sim (you'll understand in a moment).
So, like I said before, the farming piece is a huge aspect in the game. That's because all of the games in the franchise involves your running of a farm (Again, it's addicting...not to mention that I become really attached to my animals). However, as much as I enjoy that piece it definitely isn't my favorite part. Next in line would be the interactions you can make with villagers. You get to talk to them, give them gifts, celebrate their birthdays, and see their cutscenes. All of the villager personalities are always very varied and interesting. You find yourself actually really caring for the villagers in these games. This probably also stems from the fact that, just as in real life, they don't start out as your friend immediately. Once you talk with them often, and get to know more about them, their friendship meter will grow, giving you a visual representation of how close you are with them. It's also interesting to see how their dialogue changes when you increase your friendship with them. I just love being able to learn the personalities and stories of these often really interesting and well-developed characters.
Now, call me weird or whatever, but my favorite aspect of the games in the Harvest Moon franchise is definitely the romance aspect. Because the entirety of each game is centered around your life on the farm, the franchise made it possible to marry a character in the town and even have kids. I love that. >w< I love being able to see the stories and personalities of the bachelors in real depth, which only happens with the bachelors, as their characters are always the most well-developed. I also love seeing the cute "heart events" that you get at certain times after the bachelor (or bachelorette if you play as a guy) likes you enough. The cutscenes are so cute! >w< In the end I usually end up liking all of the bachelors in the town, since they're all so wonderful. >n< (I de eventually end up picking a favorite and marrying them though. ;P).

For those of you who have played any of the incredible, and incredibly relaxing games from this franchise, I've actually only played a few, and have never fully finished a game (the game never really ends, but I consider it over when I have married and my kid(s) has(have) fully grown). So far, I have only played HM:MFOMT (More Friends of Mineral Town), HM:MM (Magical Melody), and HM:TOTT (Tale of Two Towns). (My favorite being MFOMT - my first HM game. :3 )

Anyways, enough about myself and the HM series. Here's the wonderful fan art that I have found! (most of which will be of my favorite bachelors)

More Friends of Mineral Town: Bachelors
Gray, Doctor (Yeah...that's his name. XD) (top), Kai (top right), Cliff (bottom left), Rick (bottom right)
I married the Doctor, but I also ended up liking Cliff a lot. :3
More Friends of Mineral Town Bachelorettes
Mary, Claire (MC), Popuri, Elli, Ann, Karen
Tale of Two Towns Bachelors and Bachelorettes + the two MCs: Lillian and Phillip (middle)
Tale of Two Towns: Lillian (MC) + Hiro (my husband in the game >w< )
He's so adorable!
Tale of Two Towns: Hirooo <3 <3 <3 (why are you so cute?!?!?)
Tale of Two Towns: Oh this person? Of course it's not the same guy from the last 2 pictures. Why would I do that? ;P
Animal Parade: I haven't actually played the game, but I know about the bachelors, and thought that this was hilarious.
The person in the third to last and second to last panel is a guy by the way (he's a bachelor actually). His name is Julius. :P
Animal Parade: Luke (loves to say words like: EXTREME!) and Owen
Animal Parade: Toby and Luke
Also, THIS (from Story of Seasons, the MC, Minori) is beautiful (you have to read the comment too, though). XD

Oh, I love these so much.

Books Books Books Books Books Books Books Books Books Books

Hello, my darling night fledglings,
Today we're gonna talk about...
HEADPHONES
No, books, but I like to tease people.
So, I lurve to read, all day e'ry day (well, maybe not that often)
But what I hate is reading for school.
Even though I usually love the books we read for school, I enjoy them and their stories, I cannot stand physically doing the reading. Even if it's a really short passage, even if it's super interesting, I just cannot stand the "read these three chapters for tonight" thing. Give me a book, tell me it's okay, chances are that I will read it.
I don't work by doing things like reading particular stuff.
And I HATE picking out books when I have to pick out books to read for a project. It's one thing to be like "read a book and respond". I hate when I have criteria to follow when picking out a book.
For example, I have a history project right now in which I have to pick out a book that is fiction, takes place in the US, and takes place in between the years 1600 and 1900. That is the exact opposite of what historical fiction I usually read. I cannot figure out a single book I own that would fit the criteria.
Moving past that, here are the two sections that shall remain a permanent part of each blog post I do.

ON THIS DAY IN HISTORY: In 1820, the Venus de Milo was discovered on the island of Melos.

And the new section I'd like to add in is "Would You Rather". Each time I'll ask one, give my response and weigh each option. I don't know if you can comment on blogs, but I'd be curious to see responses from people.
So, without further ado

Would You Rather: Know when you're going to die or how you're going to die.

Tricky tricky. I would rather know how I will die, as I can then adjust to the idea, and maybe prepare so that it will be less painful. I feel like it would drive me crazy to know exactly when.
But on the other hand, knowing how you will die sounds pretty creepy and crazy, and it would be useful to know when.
Who knows.

That's all for now folks, good night, my darling owl-lets.

Cherry: Story Time! | A Cute Story

Here's a cute Pokemon story to close Easter Sunday off with. :)

It gives a nice message about how you're always important to someone, even if you don't believe it, yourself.
(It's also a cute way to see how and why Zubat evolves)

Happy Easter everyone, and don't forget how much you mean to others. :)

Jocelyn: Introduction

Hey, my name is Jocelyn! I'm one of Nicky's friends from Canada and my favourite colour is red (haha that's right Nicky I used u's in those words! <-- sorry there was a huge conversation on that a couple months back). I don't actually know what to say. Talk about right now? Um, well I kinda got sick and lost my voice and I have to sing tomorrow for something...that's not that interesting but that's just whatever is on my mind right now. Also one of my friends introduced me to a strange drama game (I'm not a drama student, I'm a music student):

Person 1: Do you love me?
Person 2: Why do you want to know?
Person 1: Why don't you answer?
Person 2: Why are you always asking questions? Are you trying to verbalize everything?
Person 1: Why don't you ever say how you feel? Why do we always quarrel?
Person 2: I love you, do you love me?

Okay, so I personally don't get this game or it's purpose but hopefully I'll get it eventually./ Although that person often tells me that I'm clueless...hmmm so yeah that's just a small bit of my life at the moment :)

Oh I almost forgot! One of my friend's birthdays is today so happy birthday to my friend Snips (not real name of course but used just to keep confidentiality and that person if reading this will know who they are)

Cherry: Roman Humor

MEN: Tell me, have you ever seen that painting where an eagle snatches up Ganymede or where Venus grabs Adonis?

PEN: Lots of times, but what do those pictures have to do with me?

MEN: C'mon now. Look at me. Do I look the part? PEN: What in the world have you got on?! MEN: Tell me I am gorgeous. PEN: When do we eat? MEN: Just say what I told you to say. PEN: Alright. I'll say it. You look fabulous. MEN: Dare to add anything of your own? PEN: Absolutely fabulous, darling. XD Lol, what? Keep in mind that Pen (short for Peniculus) is the guy friend of Men, or Menaechmi. So, Peniculus is joking when he calls him "darling". To be completely honest, this sounds like something my friends and I would say to each other. XD - Cherry

Cherry: Game of the Day | Dust: An Elysian Tale

Woohoo! Time for another post! :D
So, today instead of doing a rant, I decided to do a review-like thing on a not-super-popular (...sort of) video-game. :P I think I'll do this often since there are quite a few games like this that I can think of. As in there are a lot games that deserve more attention in my opinion.

So, let's start with Dust: An Elysian Tail. (heh, get it? Tail?...) (By the way I haven't actually played it, but I have seen a play-through of it. [ and want to play it ;u; ] )

Story:
The story is amazing. It has a very extensive storyline with many different little stories in between from its many side quests and characters. It's also interesting to see how you can choose certain actions that decides what kind of personality you want the main character, Dust, to have. As for what the actual story is, it pretty much is about a fox/wolf/some-furry-creature-with-pointy-ears, that woke up in the middle of a forest with no past memories. He's then approached by some talking floating sword ( XD yep ) that seems to know more about him then Dust does himself. The sword says that Dust must go East for answers, and after a cute, little flying creature joins him (it was her responsibility to watch the sword so she's coming along in order to take it back once Dust is done with it) the journey begins. The beginning of the story itself is pretty commonplace, but there's actually so much more that actually goes into the storyline later on, that makes it really stand out from other games and stories.

Characters:
Dust: He's the main character that I talked about a little bit ago. He's an extremely powerful (attacking-wise, as this is a game in which you fight off monsters) amnesiac, that seems to have a pretty cool personality. He loves to tease Fidget, the flying creature companion, which I really like as it makes him a lot more realistic and fun. Once again, you can somewhat customize his personality in that you can choose certain actions, but then again you aren't exactly choosing his personality as you're shown later why you even had those specific personality options...I don't know how to explain this. XD To anyone who has played the game, I'm specifically referring to that time when he was returning clothes to the old man in a village who made a little boy wash them in a dangerous place, and you could choose whether to put some poison ivy type thing in the clothes or not. Well, anyways, I really like Dust as a character, and it's interesting to see how his personality is as himself and how his past affects his current personality as well.

Fidget: She's a flying creature called a Nimbat that guards the Blade of Ahrah - the talking sword that floated over to Dust in the beginning. In order to take the sword back later, she accompanies Dust on his journey. She's a really interesting and rather sassy character. XD Which makes her awesome in my opinion. She also just makes the game a lot more fun, as her personality makes me love seeing all of the cutscenes that show her interactions with Dust. It's just so amusing. XD

Then there's the Blade of Ahrah, which honestly is mostly just there in the beginning as a tutorial guide and to create a sense of mystery. He does have an actual purpose in the story later, but if I were to tell you what that was, it would reveal some really important plot details from pretty far into the game. :P Also, there's another very important character named Ginger, but she talking about her would also give away too much important plot development, so I'll just stop here with the character analysis. XD

Gameplay:
Although I can't say anything about the gameplay from past experience, I do know that it has a button-combo attacking stye of gameplay, and that the controls are easy to understand and execute from what I have seen when others play the game. There is also a leveling up and experience point aspect to the game. You can even upgrade your stats which is a nice touch.
The only not-so-great feature is that you can't save wherever you want. However, there are plenty of save points scattered throughout the game, and you only need to walk through it instead of standing there, waiting for it to save for you.

Graphics:
IT'S BEAUTIFUL. Everything is just so PRETTY. The backgrounds are great, the character art and animations are fantastic, the fighting animations are amazing, all of the graphics are just so incredible! (I also love the outfits - specifically Dust's. His hat is pretty cool.) The only thing that I didn't really like was Dust's character art without his hat on. Later on in the game, he does remove his hat, revealing his face for once. I wasn't very impressed by it though. Something looked a bit off about his face (not to mention that his eyes made him look very girly). But that is just a small little thing compared to the beauty of the entire game itself. <3

Closing Notes and Wrap-Up:
I wasn't sure where to put this, but I wanted to mention the healing items that they have in the game. Dust eats food to recover his health, and the food consists of real-life dishes, many of which are Korean. I was so stoked to see all of the Korean dishes in the game (seeing as I'm Korean myself). It was wonderful to be able to see him eat all of these foods that I myself love and eat. >u< (even the title has Korean next to it) Oh, and also, an important thing to keep in mind that makes this game all the more impressive, is the fact that one person, let me repeat, ONE person made this entire game. ONE PERSON. OnO He did all of the planning, the art, the animations, the coding, everything. Look at me in the eyes (well you can't actually, but whatever) and tell me that that's not incredible. This guy is really amazing to have been able to make a game with as great of a story, characters, gameplay, and art as this.

Well, that's all, but I hoped that you guys enjoyed this. :3 I hope that you guys at least check this game out sometime!

Music Opinions (wow more opinions I'm on a roll)

Hey guys!

So today I've been thinking a lot about music taste. Music is such an important part of most of our lives, and obviously, people like to share the music they love. However, something I really hate is the kind of superiority people have about what music they like. You know the stereotypical kind, the one that's always like, "I only listen to real music, none of that popular stuff on the radio!" And I've had these thoughts as well. I think it's just natural to feel like whatever you like is actually better; I mean, it's better in your mind, so why not everywhere else?

But the thing is, I think people forget that music is all just an arrangement of sounds, no matter how popular or unpopular it is. Rock music doesn't sound good to your ears? Well, ok, it sounds great to others. You hate autotuning? Cool, but some people don't mind. I do agree that the music industry isn't at it's best place at the moment, but more for it's immense pressure on artists rather than the artists themselves. The artists of today have their own styles that are different from the past, and I think that people just need to accept that, and stop being so defensive over their opinion that popular music is terrible nowadays.

Also, there's the whole bad attitude towards people that care a lot about a band. Maybe I just hate that because I really care about numerous bands, but it's just stupid to laugh at people that are legitemately sad about a band member leaving or a band breaking up. It may seem stupid to you, but it's just their passion. They can't help but be upset, so people should just be supportive rather than make them feel even worse by telling them that their troubles are stupid.

This was mostly on my mind because Spencer Smith left Panic! at the Disco today. No, no one told me I shouldn't care (that part was mostly talking about peoples attitude towards directioners) but I'm still sad because he was the second to last original member and Brendon is probably upset which is not a fun thing to imagine. I hope they stay together and everything, because I definitely still support them.

Bye for now,
Aria~

Owl: Read My Lips and Red Your Own

Hey, night babies,
Wow, that came out creepier than intended. Excellent.
Don't you just hate it when you're talking with someone and they just do not have an actual conversation with you? Example (I honestly just picked random things):
Person1: Hey, so I have this really weird story about a prank PersonA pulled on PersonB.
Person2: Oh, neat, so check out this new car I bought.
Person1: Ooh, I like the color. So, anyway, PersonA was planning this joke with mayonnaise–
Person2: And check out my new manicure.

I mean, I'm guilty of this crime too, so, I have no room to complain, but it's annoying and just plain rude. Can we please just talk about something together? I understand that you have a bunch of really interesting things happening in your life, but it would be really awesome if our conversations were not just about you, and me admiring you.
Read my lips, and chances are, you will see me swearing at you for this crime. That or mouthing lyrics. One of the two. Both are equally likely.
And if you are reading my lips at all during the month of April, chances are they will be bright red (segue dance, woot woot).
In order to raise awareness about sexual and domestic violence, particularly rape, people all throughout the month of April, all over the world, will be wearing bright red lipstick, or just bright red garments. Please, join the cause and wear red, awareness is key to solving any problem.

Also, I'm gonna add a new thing, a "on this day in history" thingy.
On this day, in 1952, the Big Bang theory was proposed by Alpher, Bethe, and Gamow.
People must have thought they were joking. That's sad.

I wish you all well, my nightowl babies.
